What is fistula-in-yes?

Fistula-in-ano is a medical phrase derived from Latin and used to describe an abnormal opening at the end of the anal channel, which is a channel used to remove by-products of digestion from the body. The abnormal opening resembles the tube and is called fistula. It connects to perianal skin - an area surrounding the intersection of the anal canal and the skin on the anal muscle of the sphincter. Most fistulas in this area are caused by abscess and are characterized by redness, swelling, pain, pain and often fever. Fistula-in-ano occurs more than twice as often in men than in women.

This type of fistula is generally very close to the sphincter area and is based on the inner glands in this area that can be blocked - similar to the acne process. These glands can then be infected and produced. Infections may increase, causing abscesses to advance to the muscle wall that develops channels or tracts, the skin.

It was clinically noted that from this type of abscess dIt is about 70% of all fistula. In addition, although abscesses can be treated with a simple surgery called cut and drainage (I & D), once the abscess reaches the stages of fistula, larger surgery is required. It has also been noted that although rectal abscesses have also undergone, there is still a great chance of developing a recurring or chronic fistula in ANO, which would require more intense surgery.

Other terms used to describe fistula-in-yes are: anal fistula, anorectal fistula, perianal fistula or rectal fistula. All these terms relate to the abnormal connection between the anal channel lining and the skin surface. Because the anal channel is only about 1-1.5 inches (2.5-4.0 cm), this immediate area is relatively small. Fistula is concentrated around a tanning sphincter because of the high number of glands in this area that delete the muscles of the sphincter. There are many tissue folds in this area thatcould also contribute to the development of anal cracks by drying out and then infected, with the subsequent development of the abscess.

Many reasons have been provided as possible causes of fistula-in-ano development. Although the vast majority were found to be caused by abscesses, some of them were known to occur spontaneously. It has been found that other more complex and rare rectal fistulas are caused by injuries, radiation used to treat cancer, complications of Crohn's disease or sexually transmitted disease-or YES may even be caused by infection after surgery for another reason.
