What is behavioral optometry?

Behavioral optometry is a form of alternative medicine that receives holistic approaches to improving visual problems. Patients are treated with correction lenses that help reduce stress and training to help them better see from a distance. Visual therapies also use optometry behavior to encourage patients to learn new skills such as sports activities that strengthen the ability of the eyes to focus, process visual information and correctly.

The treatment process is usually triggered by testing patients on different eye -related abilities. Tests help determine how well patients do in activities such as reading letters on the chart, and analyzes areas such as coordination of hands and eyes and color perception. Real lenses are part of behavioral optometry that could be used to treat visual problems. If they are prescribed, these lenses are designed to function differently from traditional glasses. Relief from stress from activities that causethat the eyes focus on elements such as computer or reading, is the purpose of remedial lenses.

Behavioral optometrists also work on eye retraining and process visual information from a distance. The lenses prescribed to patients treated with behavioral optometry often include small prisms that could help improve their visual patterns. These prisms force the brain to work with the eyes, especially if they are susceptible to imbalance, such as going up, down or out when used.

Vision Therapy is another element of behavioral optometry and includes exercises that contain relaxation techniques for the eyes. The aim of this therapeutic process is also to help the eye again improve the lost skills by implementing improvement that helps the patient's brain control of his focusing skills, eye movements, processing information about vision and eye alignment. Therapy by vision neocusexclusively during eye exercises, as this can cause eye muscle fatigue. Instead, behavioral optometry teaches patients to learn new skills such as juggling or playing ball games and how to practice relaxation techniques.

This form of alternative medicine may also include lifestyle changes that can be used to improve vision. These changes include patient diet changes, monitoring and improving sleep patterns and stress management. Some behavioral optometry experts suggest that this particular form of alternative medicine can also help treat problems that children have in the field of learning, spelling, reading and coordination. These experts also emphasize this treatment as a solution to attention and hyperactivity problems.
