What is a capsular contracture?

One of the most common risks of breast enlargement is capsular contracture, which results in breasts that feel hard. This is because the body sometimes surrounds an implant with excessive scar tissue, presses the device and causes it to look and feel unnaturally firm. Although anyone can develop this unfortunate side effect of breast implant, smoking, chest trauma and infections can increase the risk. In many cases, the implant must be removed and replaced by a new one after the excess scar tissue is removed. However, newer methods do not require the removal of the implant, as doctors can inject vitamin E and steroids or even massage the implant to soften it.

breast enlargement usually requires the doctor to create a pocket in the breast tissue in which the implant needs to be placed. Once the implant is placed in the pocket, the body creates a lining of the tissue around it, which is often called a capsule. Although normal that the body decreases this tissue over time, in cases of capsular contractRy, the capsule presses the implant too hard. This leads to an unnaturally solid implant that can begin with fluid leakage. Although this problem is often accompanied by discomfort and breast that looks strangely shaped, it is usually not harmful to the patient.

Anyone can develop a capsular contract, but some factors may increase the chances that some patients have a problem. Smoking, breast trauma and infections may occur after surgery, which increases the risk of capsular contracture. Broken blood vessels and autoimmune disorders can also cause the lining around the implant to push it too hard. Even the location of the implant can play a role in determining the one who experiences this problem, because the capsular contracture usually occurs more frequently in implants that are located above the chest muscle than those located below.

Simple treatment for the ruptured breast implant is replacedand removing the excess tissue of the scar around it. However, there are some alternatives, one of which is vitamin E and steroid injections. Some doctors prefer to use newer technology to solve the problem, such as sound waves that can lead to softer breast, while others only massage the implant until the surrounding tissue of the scar. Although there is no certain way to prevent capsule compassion, the risks may be reduced by massage of the breast just after enlargement and occasional pressing of the implant to prevent the lining from preventing it.
