What is Mirror syndrome?

Mirror syndrome, also known as Ballantyne syndrome and maternal hydropics, is a condition that affects pregnant women. It is a rare disorder in which water retention in pregnant women reflects changes in fetal hydropic changes. This means that under the skin or cavity in the mother, fetus and usually placenta, so in the placenta. Sometimes it is referred to as a triple edema that indicates the retention of fluids in all three places. The mirror syndrome is associated with preeclampsia, which means that fluid retention is associated with hypertension or high blood pressure. This syndrome is dangerous for both mother and fetus and must be carefully monitored by a doctor. The mother can experience the obstruction of the bladder or the cracked bladder and the fetus can die. Extreme cases Warrant Emergency Caesarean section. Many times the cause of fetal hydrops is unknown and it is difficult to heal without known cause. Until the pathophysiology causing fetal hydropics is known, any treatment may be dangerous and harmful, so doctors must explore all abnormalities that mOhl to evoke this disorder. Once the fetal edema is discovered, doctors usually test the mother for the Mirror syndrome during ultrasound to determine the best disability.

Depending on the cause and whether the cause is known, the doctor usually orders the mother to the strict rest regime to reduce swelling and hypertension. Each case of mirror syndrome is unique, so each instance will require a different treatment plan if any treatment plan is given. In these cases, fetal surgery is very risky and is often not recommended. The delivery is always the best solution, but depending on the place of pregnancy it is sometimes not an immediate option.

If doctors are actually able to accurately determine the cause of fetal hydropics, the treatment will depend on the cause. Treatment could include transfusions for correction of anemia, medicines for cardiac arrhythmia, lesion reduction that prevents heart venous or lymphatic returnnostril or procedures to stop blood loss. Sometimes the mother can also be given medication, but the best procedure for Mirror syndrome is always timely detection, so swelling can be controlled before too much damage.
