What is Plutofobia?

Plutophobia is an intense, irrational fear of money. He can manifest himself as fear of having money, fear of rich people, or fear of real money himself. As with most phobia suffering, Plutofobic feels forced to avoid a fearsome object at all costs, in this case money, rich people or a situation that could lead to a rich because anxiety deteriorates closer to the object.

Although some people are more likely than others to evolve phobia, plutofobia, as well as other phobias, usually stems from life experience rather than a mental problem. Some suffering from phobia may be able to determine a specific traumatic event, while others will feel that fear has arisen from nothing. In these cases, scientists speculate that it may be because the triggering event has been a combination of several minor, poor experiences that have occurred in childhood and have been forgotten since then the fear remains.

Depending on the intensity of the fear, the symptoms that suffer from plutophobia can experience the extent from feelings of anxiety to shortness of breath, nausea and many other symptoms associated with anxiety disorders. Extreme fear can lead to panic attacks or similar episodes. Sometimes medicines can be used to control heavy anxiety to help individuals live a normal everyday life. Most of the time, however, the medication serves only to cover the symptoms and do not help control the basic fear itself.

One way to learn to manage plutophobia is to practice relaxation techniques to learn how to control fear and prevent it from taking over. Therapy is also a possibility and sometimes can discover the previously unknown cause of phobia or deeply buried, unconscious origin, which can then be solved. Hypnotherapy is sometimes used to find the reasons of phobia or to adjust the person's feelings in the direction of the object, helping the suffering face his fearsor any number of other applications. One known treatment of phobia of all kinds is called exposure therapy, a method in which a phobic individual is slowly and gradually exposed to a script who is afraid of the controlled situation. Over time, this has helped a phobic person to build tolerance and desensibrate to a situation that would normally be intensively stressful.
