What is sperm sorting?

Sperm sorting is a controversial method of choosing pre -fertilization of gender. It separates the male y-emerm from the woman's X-emerge to increase the chance of the concept of a particular sex. It is often paired with other methods of sex selection, such as preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD) before implanting into the mother. It was originally used in animals for production purposes and was used to increase the number of cows. Shortly thereafter, however, his potential in man reproduction was realized.

There are currently many sperm sorting methods. One of the older methods that was still used in 2011 is the technology of sexual sexual semen Beltsfield, which uses a combination of fluorescent dyes and electric cartridges to separate both sexes. Another method that has shown the most accurate sperm sorting results since 2011 is Microsort® technology, which also uses fluorescent dye and laser technology. Although there are more methods available, both of them have shown that it is notJúfučinče since 2011.

No method guarantees that sorting is 100% of one particular sex sperm, but the concentration of both sex sperm is significantly higher. The Beltsfield method has an average of 90% concentration with X-SPERM and 75% with Y-SPERM. The Microsort® method has a success rate of 91% for women and 76% in men. Since 2011, many other methods, such as the popular Ericsson method, still show no real evidence that the level of concentration changes above 50%.

Although sperm is sorted before fertilization and concept, there are several people who are afraid of sex selection. Many are afraid that only preference can be used to become preferably preferred, for example in China and India, where male children are preferred. In addition, some are afraid that this will create higher awareness of the sex of the child, where the preferred sex is not so prominent. Others also still consider sorting sperm as a form of manipUlace with nature and morally disputed.

There are reasons for sorting sperm that can be considered valid and are recorded in the regulation of sperm sorting according to food and drug administration (FDA) in the United States. The primary reason is to prevent genetic problems that are associated with sex, such as polycystic ovaries syndrome in women. The secondary reason the FDA allowed is to maintain a balanced family, which means that the family wants the same number of men and women.
