What is the port expander?
Port expger is a device that allows one port in the computer system to connect to multiple devices. There are two basic forms of port expander: internal and external. The internal expander has a connection inside the computer, usually on the motherboard, and the only part that the user sees is an expansion plate containing multiple ports. The external device connects to the existing port and then has multiple places to connect. If they are not part of the computer system, these devices are commonly known as distribution. Extension cables and strips are in almost every modern house. Both of these devices divide one socket into multiple devices. Cable division is also in many homes, allowing one coaxial cable to provide cable TV more sets. Some systems can even use A/B box, a device that connects multiple sets with the same system but switches between them by inverting between A or B.
