What is the render farm?

Farm Render is a network of computers working to process large graphics that would otherwise take much longer. Although it can be used to portray any graphics, the render farm is usually used only with special film effects and other graphics that are too big to process one computer. The processor on each computer communicates with processors on other computers, so everyone knows what other computers are working on. Administrators' programs are often needed to coordinate each computer to ensure that they work efficiently on graphics. When someone creates a picture or little animation, one computer can often render these graphics quickly, but very large graphics can take hours, days or even weeks. This slows down the graphic workflow and can cause the computer to collapse when rendering. To circumvent this problem and drain much faster, many computers are used at the same time to portray graphics. Although there are other types of farm, the render farm is used onlyto the rendering.

Smaller graphics will not benefit from the rendering farm and the use of this small graphics can be expensive due to the high amount of energy needed to power each computer. For this reason, only very large graphics are undergoing farm. These graphics are usually whole, three -dimensional (3D) animations; computer special effects for movies; And large models used in marketing. Each computer is also optimized for rendering, so the farm works even faster.

During the drawing process, the processor of each computer will talk to other computers on the render farm. Their communication is not very advanced and is usually limited to what every computer records or downloads. This makes the farm management easier, but it is usually not enough to run the whole farm without any problems. Without any type of management, two or more computers can draw the same graphics, and because graphics need to be rendered only oneOu, it waste time and energy.

To ensure that each computer only draws the graphics to be processed, the program is often used in conjunction with the network. The administrator checks the workload and will see what files still need to be rendered. It will then distribute files to computers and ensure that each graphics are processed on only one computer.
