What is plug-in Activex®?
Activex® plug-in is a computer program that works inside and interacts with a program like Microsoft® Windows® Internet Explorer®. Such a plug-in allows browser and other tools to perform certain features such as displaying videos or games. Plugins can also be used to add functions to the program that was not present in the original installation. They are downloaded and installed on your computer via the Internet connection. The plug-in, which was introduced in 1996, was ACTIVEX® a successor to two similar types of technologies, called the "Model of the Component Object" and "Connection and Inserting Objects". Instead, languages such as C ++ and Java are used to create these plugins. It is also possible for plug-ins to interact and integrate with the HTML programming language.
In addition to web browsers, the Plugins and Controls of ACTIVEX® have the option to use the Windows®tem, in addition to web browsers. These programs include but are not limited to them, Microsoft® Office ™, software set PRSummer Microsoft; and Windows® Media Player®. Activex® plugins help these programs share information about the web with other programs on the same computer.
Activex® plugins are only available for Windows® computers. This causes websites that rely strongly on Activex® and plug-ins technology to display incorrectly on operating systems such as Mac OS X® and Linux®. Mozilla® Firefox® does not support Activex®, although third -party plugins have been released. Instead, Firefox® uses different plug-in types and extensions to perform many same functions as ACTIVEX®.
users are intended to enable or deactivate ACTIVEX® plugins when using the Internet Explorer® web browser. If allowed, users can also specify different security levels. Internet Explorer® may invite users when neededStal the plug-in Activex®, can download all plugins automatically, or can be set to download only plugins from secure sites.
According to the design, the plug-insivex® plug-in has a full administrative approach to all aspects of the Windows® operating system. As a result, technology is one of the primary ways to download harmful programs such as spyware and adware to the computer from the web. For this reason, browsers support ACTIVEX® to deactivate technology to users at their discretion. This is also one of the main reasons cited by the Mozilla® Firefox® development team, why this browser does not openly support this technology.
