What is the Gerber format?
Gerber format is a computer file format that uses PCB (PCB) software manufacturers. The information contained in the Gerber format describes the board with the printed circuit in which it is associated and provides its parameters, including its solder, legend and description. This information is as a plan for a flat circuit board, which allows computer and software designers to know how and where to approach different parts of the board. Of the two general types-RS-274-D and RS-274-X-In the present, only RS-274-X format is used. Gerber format files are provided in the American standard information exchange format (ASCII) and are readable without the need for a translation program. In other words, the file is written in ordinary letters and numbers, not in a binary or other form, which would be impossible for one to understand. There is a software that can display a picture of the information contained in the Gerber format file.
The RS-274-X file type contains a full description of the flat circuit board itself. No external files are required to understand or add. It can identify different planes on the board, positive images and describe any conceivable shape of the aperture without deviating from the standard ASCII layout. The RS-274-X files are originally created either using electronic design programs or computer programs on the printing circuit board.
One disadvantage of Gerber files is that they do not contain information about a particular PCB layer they refer to; This must be derived from the other data. This is not usually the main problem, but it may be an inconvenience, because individuals who search files will have to view multiple files before finding a particular layer they are looking for. Despite this, Gerber format files remain almost universal standard for branches with circuits.
