What is a corn conveyor?

corn conveyor is a device used in an agricultural environment where corn is used to feed livestock. It is usually used in conjunction with feed or trough, corn conveyor is normally placed outside the basket or storage basket. Made of rubber with or without plates of the divider or paddles, the corn conveyor is usually designed to function on a flat, horizontal plane, although sometimes there may be a slight climb and fall over the length of the conveyor. The conveyor differs from the corn lift in that the elevator is designed to send the corn vertically to the silo or grain. The most common role of corn conveyor is to feed livestock. The corn is supplied from a basket of silo or grain and placed on a conveyor where it is sent to a bunk or trough. The conveyor is operated through the bunk beland of feed and corn is directed to different areas of the bunk bed individually by opening ports, moving clamps or mechanically operated slides. A smooth, rubber belt used on a conveyor helps preventAnimal injury if they should become licking or confirming the belt while moving.

Sometimes the corn conveyor is designed to work as a system of several short conveyors instead of one, long conveyor. In this application, the individual strips are operated independently of each other and the feed can be limited from certain areas by shutting down the individual conveyor. Another use for the conveyor is the transfer of feed and grain from the silo to the central mixing basket. On dairy farms, it is common to use different ingredients from several forces to mix one dose of feed. With this type of system, several conveyors can be used to transport feed from multiple storage units to a single mixing basket and then on the bunk feed.

It is mandatory for the corn conveyor to be made of soluid material that prevents the loss of small corn cores from the conveyor holes. Rubber is the most common materialÁlem used in the production of the transport belt due to its flexibility, strength and durability in a harsh environment. Another feature of the rubber belt is its quiet operational characteristics. The relatively quiet operation of the rubber corn conveyor allows feeding animals without alarming or scared.
