What is electogalvanization?

Electrogalization is a process used in metal processing to prevent corrosion. Zinc electropping, process process or galvanization, adheres to the zinc layer to the surface of steel to inhibit rust and corrosion. Zinc is not a normal corrosion, so this metal plating protects steel that lies under the plating. Electrogalization is not the same process as zinc. The electrogalization process requires the use of electricity to create a zinc layer on a steel conductor. This process is more permanent than zinc plating processes, such as immersion of hot, because the zinc actually adheres to steel at the molecular level, rather than being just a coating added to the steel. This is an important resolution, but the wrong identification of zinc plating as an electrogalization is quite common.
