What is a gas lift?

The gas lift is a way to increase the natural flow of the oil well by reducing the weight of the liquid in the well column by injection of high -pressure gas. The weight of the oil column together with the resistance caused by the flow of viscous oil through the well system must be overcome by the natural pressure of the tank to provide flow. The injection gas near the bottom of the hole column reduces the oil density and the overall weight of the liquid in the well column. Gas lift systems are usually more compact and require less energy than other flow rate increases and are a popular solution for boring projects at sea. When the oil is removed from the tank, the pressure drops and the flow speed slows down or gets to complete stop. Since this usually occurs before most of the oils have been removed from the tank, the rest of the oil can be advantageously used by lowering the pressure of the well column on the tank. This can be done by drawing the oil up through the well column by replacing the missing oil in the tank with water or other kapaby lines or reducing the weight of the liquid in the well column.

The gas is injected into the well column either through the well cover or directly through the production tube. If the gas is injected through a well cover, the gas inlet valve is usually placed in the Peru, a kind of niche built into the side of the production tube. This allows the oil to flow up into the tube without being defended in the gas injection, and is generally preferred in low -volume wells. In larger holes, the gas stroke system can be reduced directly into the production tube without significantly affecting flow oil.

In the case of most ground oil holes, other ways of improving flow are easier and more economical than a gas lift. It is primarily used on coastal drilling trains, where there is space for bonus and the advantage is the compact nature of the injection mechanisms. It is also used in oil fields that produce a high volume of natural gas.The gas can pass through the washing machine to clean and dry the gas in a place where it can be immediately injected into the oil -out oil holes. Once the gas is injected into the well, most is regenerated on the surface and can be compressed and again injected without much waste.
