What is Hirudin?

Hirudin is a compound made by medicinal leeches that disrupts the body's ability to create a blood clot. The circle has been used in medicine for centuries. They are currently used for different conditions that benefit from removing blood clots. Such anticoagulation includes inhibition of protein thrombin that catalyzes blood production. The use of live leeches risks the introduction of bacteria into the wound and hirudin is generally used in itself to prevent blood clotting. They produce anesthetics, so the host will probably notice how to join the leeches. Also in the mixture are compounds that prevent blood clotting, so that it will flow freely into the leech. The blood remains unclotted, even after Leech separates. They are some disadvantages of using living leeches for anticoagulation because they can introduce bacteria into the wounds. It is a chain of 65 amino acids, first discovered in 1884. Only in 1976 was the structure set. Leeches have only a small amount of this serve in the salivaChenns and there are several different forms of Hirudin mixed together. Most pure compounds used medically are derived from genetically treated peptide.

Blood clotting involves the conversion of soluble protein called fibrinogen into insoluble fibrin. This reaction is catalyzed by an enzyme called thrombin, which is a protease and can break down other proteins. When thrombin is inactivated, fibrin is not formed and blood is already knocked down.

There are different types of thrombin. Hirudin only inactivates the type of thrombin that is most specific to fibrinogen, and therefore it is the most effective compound that inhibits thrombin. It is even more specific than your own body thrombin inhibitor, antithrombin III.

conditions that benefit from anticoagulant therapy include varicose veins and genetic disorders in which blood is too coagulated. Hirudin can affect the thrombin that has created a net and become a precipitate. StateSuch clots inside the blood vessels are known as thrombosis. This peptide can even affect complex thrombin and this ability gives it an advantage over heparin drug, as well as an anticoagulant.
