What is the foil?

The foil is a specific type of sword of the sash. Foils are used in sports fencing and are also the most common blades used in the introduction to the art of fencing. Many swords worked with foils at some point in their career, although they continued to use different blades and styles of fencing. Any fencing store will maintain a wide range of foil, along with handles, blade protectors and other fencing, such as protective jackets and helmets.
