What is cronyism?
Cronaism is a form of corruption in which political officials and entrepreneurs show prefer friends in appointing people for the positions of power, granting contacts, and deleting tasks related to their offices. Friends who benefit from cronyism are usually awarded the positions of privileges regardless of their level of skills, ability or suitability for this position, which means that better options can be handed over. Related concept, neotism, involves manifestation of preference with relatives. Initially, the word was meant in a positive way, but in the 18th century it acquired more ominous connotations, and Crons was a crime partner rather than a real friend. People are involved in Cronaism for various reasons. Some politicians simply want to be surrounded by friends and people they know because they believe that their management can run smoothly. Cronaism often leads to a situation where people in power can, as a result, widespread weak and other forms of corruption.
Produstoritism may not only come in the form of rewarding friends by political or industrial positions. It can also be performed when companies and governments have to award contracts for various jobs.
