What is Murraya?
Twelve different species form a genus of plants known as Murraya. People often maintain the type of this tree as a terrain plant, usually in a pot. Some types of plants, such as curry tree, are used for culinary purposes. Murraya is also used in folk medicine to treat stomach complaints and other diseases.
These tropical and subtropical species create engaging focal points in both indoor and outdoor environments. Trees generally do not grow in height more than three feet (1 meter), which makes them popular plants for internal cultivation. Aromatic and vibrant leaves of the shrub are green and pinnate and receive up to 1 to 1.5 inches (2 to 4 centimeters) in length.
Murraya family members usually require full sunlight. Some species may grow in partial shadow. Considered simple plants grow, trees do not need an environment a cooler than 55 degrees Fahrenheit (13 degrees Celsius). Seeds that may be buried at still encapsulating the fruit of the plant must be planted while the worms areyours to ensure that they grow. Dry seeds will usually not flourish.
Good soil bases for growing Murraya plants can include clay, sand and peat. The mixture of these components works well with plants. These landscaping require little water during the winter. In the summer months, plants should be allowed to dry fully between watering. If they are kept outside, plants should move inside the winter season in most areas.
Planting Murraya shrubs is not always necessary. Pinnate plants are available for purchases in many stores as small or already grown trees. They can also be ordered online. Flowering takes place from the end of spring to mid -summer. Plants provide small white, sweet fragrant flowers. Fruits, which are usually dark purple, red orange or almost black color and very shiny, grow during the late summer months.

Although some leaves and tree berries are used in food preparation, their seeds are poisonous. The leaves can be used directly from the tree, washed and used to cook traditional Indian cuisine, such as curry food. The fruit itself can be consumed raw if necessary.
In addition to cooking, leaves are used as medical tonic. They can be useful in the treatment of stomach discomfort and animal bite. Some use the plant as anti-error and antibacterial treatment. Murraya Bark and roots are also said to have healing properties.
