What is DLP LCD and why is it cheaper than standard LCD HDTV?

A DLP LCD is a type of rear projection TV, which uses digital light processing (DLP) along with liquid crystal technologies (LCD). LCD DLP is 14 inches wide in the lower rear. It is a cheaper TV than the LCD HDTV flat panel, which is thick several centimeters and can be mounted on the wall. LCD HDTV does not use rear project technology.

There are different types of rear project TVs, from which DLP is one. DLP uses digital micromirror devices (DMD) on a semiconductor chip to create a series of gray stages. Every small mirror on the chip is the only pixel on the display. Between a micromirror chip and a design lamp that creates color shades. This sometimes creates undesirable "rainbow" artifacts and in many cases has been replaced by newer patterns. These include three DMD and prism to divide light; Three LED lights in primary colors eliminating TON colored wheel; or advanced colored wheels. LcosThe brindle more liquid crystals rather than micromirory and combine aspects of DLP and LCD to produce excellent image quality with probably narrower cabinets than DLP LCD sets. Both products project the image from behind the set on the back of the screen screen.

Standard or flat panel LCD TV is not a projection technology, but similar to a computer monitor on steroids. The picture is created on the display itself rather than it is projected on it. LCD HDTVs are desirable because of their sharp images, lighter weights and the ability to be mounted on the wall. LCD TV with a flat panel is also an excellent choice for bright rooms, as the display is nerflective. The standard LCD TV with a flat panel does not succeed with the use, even if the event of a backlight connection burns. The average life expectancy lasts an average of about 60,000 hours.

DLP LCD once decided on a large screen market. Today with falling prices and larger LCD screens LCD withThe flat panel effectively pushes LCD DLP to a smaller market that occupies the largest screen displays exceeding 55 inches (1.39 meters). In these larger sizes you can also find a flat panel LCD, but the price will be larger.

TV Rear projections such as DLP LCD and LCOS are affordable options for very large screens, where the flat panel TV is too expensive or not necessary. If the TV is not mounted on the wall, several bucks could decide to save. Most rear project TVs require a new lamp (cheaper than LCD backlight), every 1-3 years, depending on use.

Advantages and disadvantages exist for each type of HDTV, so it is best to look at the sets side by side and decide which picture is the most attractive and balances the price against quality. Flat PanellCDs are generally considered sharper and more vivid, while TV rear projection can provide a larger bang for your money and provide a nice picture. TV-projection TV can also be appropriatelyLater for screening room with ideal (muted) lighting, where LCD TV may seem hard.
