What is the phreak phone?

phreaks are individuals who make up a subculture that experiment using a telecommunications activity that is known as preaking. In principle, a telephone phreak tries to identify and manipulate the different sound frequencies associated with tones used to provide different services to phones. In recent years, Phone Phone Phreak has also expanded to use audio components as part of the process to study and identify electronic hacking with computer systems and servers.

The exact origin of the phone is discussed, although there is a general consensus that the art of preaking was born in the mid -20th century. Since more and more telephone service providers have started to deploy automatic switching for most calls than to rely on manual switching by the operator. Automatic switching included the use of audio signaling that allowed telephone switches to serial tones to properly process directthe eye of the eye.

At the end of the 1950s, a young man named Joe Engressia, later known as Joybobbles, found that he could whistle a tone that would allow him to catch a suitcase or telephone line. He informed his local telephone company in an effort to find out what happened. While he did not attempt to use this talent first, in later years he was often quoted as using his phaking capabilities.

During the rest of the 20th century, other phreakers appeared, along with groups of phones that joined and continued to detect security risks in telephone systems. More than one phreak phone gained national attention, some of which moved to become innovators in the development of home computers. Two remarkable telephone celebrities were Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak, founded by Apple Computers.

Phaaker era ended up in the continental United States in RO ROCE 2006, when the last older switch using the MF-Signal style technology was replaced by T1 Carrier technology. To date, it has not been able to handle the current automated switching device. This means that if a process is not discovered that allows individuals to capture control of these safer phone trunks, the Phreak phone link can be considered complete.
