What is sequential art?

sequential art is a term that is often used interchangeably with comic book , although it also includes other forms of art. Other areas of art belonging to the umbrella of sequential art include animation, scenarios, illustrations of children's book and game design. Within these universities, sequential art students learn how to draw comics and other forms of sequential art and how to develop and create a storyline. This includes inks, pencils, color separation and script writing class. Students also have the opportunity to meet successful artists and visit sequential art conferences. This form of sequentiality was originally designed for entertainment, but has become a huge industry with more million dollars, with enthusiasts buying and trading their comics and Hollywood films that were produced around their story lines.

This type of sequential art is most often published in newspapers and magazines.Comic strips are similar to comics, but generally consist of four panels of images and text. However, some comics have more than four panels and others are made of only one.

In this way, a person who reads comic strips in the newspaper can get another episode in the story every day until a specific story is told. Popular comic strips are sometimes compiled in a book after being published in newspapers or magazines.

sequential art in the form of storyboarding and animation often walks a hand and hand. Storyboarding includes the elaboration of simple representations of the scene in the animated work. Using the Storyboard, the animators revive the scene by creating animation cells. Storyboards are also often used in planning illustrations for children's books.
