What is neo-ludit?

neo-ludit is someone who believes that the use of technology has serious ethical, moral and social consequences. Neo-Luddities who operate under this belief are critical of technology and careful to support its timely acceptance. Although they are not necessarily against technology, they would rather see a serious discussion of the role of technology in society. Some neo-luddites do not actually like technology and have decided to live "voluntary simplicity", but that's not always. The Luddites did not like the spread of mechanical devices, such as mechanized weaving conditions to fulfill the tasks previously performed by people. They held marches, destroyed factories, and participated in other types of activism in an effort to prevent further technological development. In the end, Luddits were unsuccessful, but when people began to challenge technology in large numbers at the age of 70, they revived this concept and called the "new Luddits" and the Neo-Luddite movement was born. Instead, the advocates of technology are often used to indicate that the thinking of neo-luddites is a stateAral and obsolete. The fantastic failure of the original Luddite movement is sometimes cited as an argument that the opposition to technology is eventually unnecessary.

NEO-LUDDITE Position is that rather than technology is always neutral or even beneficial, people should think about the consequences of technology. For example, advanced life support systems now allow people to live much longer than in the previous times, but these lives are not always fulfilling or happy. Technology is also used in different ways that could be perceived as harmful; For example, several cities use extensive tracking systems to follow the population that many people consider to be privacy violations.

members of this movement are quite diverse, although many are activists and academics. Shares similar distrust or vigilance of technology, especially the role of business profit rather than human pFathers, when driving technological changes. Some Neo-Luddits are also opponents of globalization for the same reasons.

Most people would not be with a non-luddit idea that technology is changing human society, and sometimes even shifting what it means to be a human. Stop thinking about the effect of technology on society is the main goal of many neo-ludits, some of which freely admit that some technologies can be very beneficial. As it often happens with small movements that are critical of a larger social trend, the voices of neo-luddites are often impressed by the grab minority, making it difficult to voice of reason. Support technologies criticize the position of Neo-Ludit and claim that the benefits of progress in technology are far from potential problems and risks.
