What is the INGHAM method?
Inggh Method® is a common form of reflexology that is practiced worldwide. Reflexology is a way to stimulate the reflective areas or parts of the body where the nerve endings, the most popular hands, legs or ears are connected. The practice of reflexology involves exerting pressure on these reflective areas with thumbs and fingers and is used to improve blood supply, reduce nervousness, stress and tension and help patients to relax. The INGHAM® method is named after EUNICE D. Inggham, physiotherapeutics and masseuses who developed this concept in the early 30 years. According to historical accounts, the method improved the method during the treatment of hundreds of patients and mapping reflective points in the process. Thus, the theme is that by pushing on the reflective area at the bottom of the legs with the thumbs, the practicing stimulate the nervous system, determine the root cause of the pain and relieve tension. The pressure range is treated on the basis of tolerance or pressure feeling of each patient. There are no known side effects.
Reflexologists, massage therapists or other practicing INGHAM Method® use only their hands, no aids and promote techniques such as holistic, natural and safe. The International Reflexology® Institute in Florida says that the purpose of reflexology is not to replace conventional medical treatment, but to promote better health and well -being. The Institute was founded by EUNICE INGHAM, DWIGHT Byers, and offers certification training on Ingham Method® recommendations and reflexologists.
Inggh Method® and other forms of reflexology are generally accepted to the medical community. Many considered this to be unscientific practice. Some consider it unnecessary during disease or disease treatment and reject it as a foot massage that will bring you to a hook for about $ 35 (USD) per $ 100 for a session. Usually a session takes 30 minutes to an hour.
EUNICE INGHAM published a book stories that the legs can tell in 1938 that was followed byThe years translated into seven foreign languages. She died in 1974 at the age of 85. Until the age of 80, she traveled on a country that went to workshops and book revisions, tried to sell the concept of Inghm Method® to the public and potential doctors such as Naturopaths, Osteopath, massage therapists, sisters and physiotherapists.
